UK FCA user guide on delegating access for submitting fund authorisation applications online

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published a user guide on delegating access for submitting fund authorisation applications following its recent announcement that fund authorisation applications and notifications will gradually move from an email-based system to fully digital forms submitted online. From 2 November, the FCA will start asking firms to submit certain applications and notifications online via FCA Connect, with the transition taking place in phases. The FCA states that it is introducing the changes over a two-year period to reflect the scale of the programme and the number of fund authorisation forms affected. The user guide provides instructions on how firm users can delegate the appropriate access to submit fund authorisation applications and notifications using Connect. It covers applications for authorising new schemes in the UK, requests for approval to change or wind-up an existing authorised fund and notifications of an approved change that has been made to a fund (Form FN).
