  • ESAs annual work programme 2027

    13 October 2026

The Joint Committee of the European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs) (comprising the European Banking Authority, European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority and European Securities and Markets Authority) has published its annual work programme for 2027, setting out priorities for addressing cross-sectoral risks and enhancing supervisory coordination across the EU financial sector. The programme identifies digital operational resilience, technological innovation, sustainable finance, securitisation and cross-sectoral risk monitoring as key focus areas.

The Joint Committee states that it will continue its work under the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), including oversight of activities relating to critical ICT third-party service providers and work towards strengthening the financial sector's preparedness against cyber threats. It will also assess emerging technologies such as AI. Consumer protection remains a core priority, alongside efforts to support the consistent application of the EU sustainability framework. The programme also highlights the Joint Committee's role in promoting coordinated supervisory responses to cross-sectoral challenges and supporting the European Commission's objectives for the Savings and Investment Union and under its simplification agenda.
